On their fourth album,
The Ramona Flowers lean fully into what they do best: clean, polished pop-rock with a firm grasp on melody and just enough flair to keep things interesting. '
Made By Humans' is slick but self-aware, shifting through a variety of moods while maintaining a steady confidence in its pop instincts.
There's a clear high point early on with '
Up All Night', a groove-led track featuring Nile Rodgers, where smooth vocals, handclaps and a funk-leaning guitar line come together effortlessly. '
Human', another standout, balances bounce with sincerity, sounding, more than anything, like it's always existed. Elsewhere, '
Hopeless Romantic' pulls the same trick but with more swagger, hooky and direct in its delivery: "Do you want to be my girl?" doesn't need overthinking.
While the album opens big, it's the more reflective cuts that give it shape. '
That Summer' leans into resolve with the line "Right now we've never been stronger", while '
Sins Of The Father' is slower, almost bruised. Strings lift closing track '
Luna', and '
Circles' is assertive and another standout.
