About Charli XCX
Charlotte Emma Aitchison, known professionally as Charli XCX, is a British singer, songwriter, and actress born on 2 August 1992. She began posting songs on Myspace in 2008 and subsequently entered the London rave scene. In 2010, she signed a recording contract with Asylum Records and released a series of singles and mixtapes in the early 2010s. Her feature on "I Love It" by Swedish duo Icona Pop in 2012 became her first number-one song in the UK and achieved international success. Her debut studio album, True Romance, was released in 2013 but did not meet commercial expectations. In 2014, she was featured on Iggy Azalea's single "Fancy," which became her most streamed song and one of the year's best-selling singles worldwide. The same year, she released "Boom Clap," her first solo top-ten single in the US. Her second studio album, Sucker, came out in 2014 and included singles such as "Break the Rules" and "Doing It." Starting in 2015, she collaborated with producers associated with the UK collective PC Music, exploring a more experimental sound and image. She released the EP Vroom Vroom in 2016 and the mixtapes Number 1 Angel and Pop 2 in 2017.
Charli draws parallels with previous PC Music and 'Vroom Vroom' debates.
