About This Track

'Real' by Code Orange is a 2017 metal track from the album 'Forever'. The lyrics frame responsibility as a problem of boundaries and blame, with lines that question “Where do you draw the line?” and turn away from external faultfinding towards self-scrutiny. There is also a bleak sense of moral erosion, moving from mechanical origins to the street, then describing what once mattered as pestilence. The overall tone is accusatory and restless, built around repeated questions and a tightening loop of accusation and reflection.

"Real" is a track by Code Orange, from the album Forever, released 13th January 2017. The track is 3:07 long. It's filed under Metal. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 4 articles about Code Orange.

Lyrics

Real

Where do you draw the line?
(Where do you draw the line?)
Shape shifter, short term thinker
Everyone wants to point the finger
No one wants to take the blame
Look into the mirror
You've done the same
From the machine to the street
What once had significance now is pestilence
It lays dead at our feet
I don't live in your world of empty promises
I don't live in your world of zero consequence
You live to destroy the things I love
You live to feel the pain you've caused
Piling on then begging off
The champion of every worthless cause
Erode the structure of our culture
Just to move on
I don't care what you have to say
We are not the fucking same
This is real now, motherfucker
And it's only your fault
Now this is real
