About This Track

'Slide' by ericdoa is a 2020 Hip-Hop/Rap track from the album 'Public Target'. The lyrics are brash and confrontational, centring on swagger, loyalty, and a readiness to retaliate, with repeated taunts and a dismissive attitude towards an opponent’s finances and credibility. One vocal passage has a chant-like exchange, with a call and response feel, before the song pivots into threats and boastful claims. A line that captures the aggressiveness arrives as “slide in with a weapon”, setting the tone for a taunting, combative delivery.

"Slide" is a track by ericdoa, from the album Public Target, released 7th January 2020. The track is 2:15 long. It's filed under Hip-Hop/Rap. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 4 articles about ericdoa.

Lyrics

Slide

(Mingo, haha)
(Angel, Angel, Angel...) Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh

I'm in the cut, slide in with a weapon
Triple seven, yeah, you know I'm protected
You got no money, your pockets depressing
How I came up, this shit was a blessing
How I came up, this shit was impressive
Talk down on the gang, we gon' teach you a lesson
Hop in the function, acting aggressive
Don't know who you are, can't chill in my section

Spend a rack, make it back in a week
I took one and she off three
My check hit just like Belis
She play my songs, yeah, on repeat
We not the same, I don't agree
You make me sick, just like disease
I spent a check to go get flee
In Tesla X, I'm catching speed

I'm in the hen, and I'm off it
You test the gang, and we gon' stain your ass for profit
I'm booted up, I'm DOA, I get it popping (ayy)
One phone call, I put his ass inside a coffin
Is you stalking, watching?
Turn me to a topic (yeah, yeah)
I got money in my hands, and a switchblade in my pocket
Say you'll die for me? Baby, keep your promise
I could give a fuck about you, I'm just being honest

I'm in the cut, slide in with a weapon
Triple seven, yeah, you know I'm protected
You got no money, your pockets depressing
How I came up, this shit was a blessing
How I came up, this shit was impressive
Talk down on the gang, we gon' teach you a lesson
Hop in the function, acting aggressive
Don't know who you are, can't chill in my section

I'm in the cut, slide in with a weapon
Triple seven, yeah, you know I'm protected
You got no money, your pockets depressing
How I came up, this shit was a blessing
How I came up, this shit was impressive

ericdoa: "It really feels like I found my purpose in life, even though that's wild corny"

Loads of acts claim to sound like the future, but 18-year-old up-and-coming ericdoa could well be it. Heading quickly for the big leagues, and with a forthcoming collab EP with glaive on the way, the buzz is real.
