Flume has shared two new tracks from his forthcoming album 'Palaces'
'Escape' and title track 'Palaces' - which features Damon Albarn - both arrive following appearances at Coachella festival over the last two weekends.
About This Track
Flume's debut single pairs the producer's fluid, minimalist production with T-Shirt's vocals on a track built around the pursuit of success. The refrain stakes out the song's emotional core: the desire for freedom to pursue one's craft without compromise. Over sparse instrumentation, T-Shirt charts the sacrifices required to reach the top, trading leisure for relentless work, turning down trips to focus on projects in Los Angeles and beyond. The chorus locks into a simple, repeating demand: "I want the top". It's a mantra stripped of pretence, delivered with the kind of single-minded focus the lyrics describe. T-Shirt's verses layer specificity onto this ambition, moving between the material rewards of success and the harder currency of legacy, the need to ensure "our story gets told". Flume's production stays restrained throughout, letting the vocal sit at the centre, which only sharpens the track's hunger.
"On Top" is a track by Flume, from the album Flume, released 1st June 2012. It's filed under Electronic. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 3 articles about Flume.
