About This Track

Future builds 'Program' around a single, obsessive question, repeated across verses and chorus until it becomes a kind of mantra. Money, status, appetite, violence, substance use: each gets the same treatment, the same interrogative shrug. The track moves at a measured pace, letting the repetition do the work rather than chasing urgency or momentum. The lyrical catalogue is unflinching. Future moves between material accumulation, pharmaceutical excess, and casual references to weapons and threat with the same flat affect, as if listing items on a checklist. There is no moralising, no narrative arc, just an inventory of a life lived at maximum intensity and maximum spend. The effect is less boastful than exhausted, a portrait of someone for whom the next acquisition and the next high have become indistinguishable from the program itself.

"Program" is a track by Future, from the album EVOL, released 12th February 2016. Full lyrics are available below.

Shawty want that wave, what's the program?

Thumbin' through the yay, what's the program?

Fuckin' up this check, what's the program? (Uh)

I just blowed a bag, what's the program? (Let's get it)

I just went shoppin', what's the program? (Super)

[Verse 1]
