Givēon's 'Numb' traces the emotional wreckage of heartbreak through a voice that has stopped registering feeling altogether. The song opens with domestic detail, a drink needed, the world in black and white, a pen run dry. By the chorus, the damage is complete: "ever since she took my love, I'm numb". The numbness is not peace but absence, a state where days and nights blur into nothing, where even the rain no longer registers. What makes the track work is the gap between gesture and sensation. Givēon sings of taking someone back to the movies, buying jewellery, performing the rituals of devotion, but admits he cannot feel a thing. The repetition of "numb" in the outro hardens into something like acceptance, or resignation. There is no fight left, no rain, no days. Just the slow drain of everything that once mattered.
