About This Track

'Peak' by Lights is a 2018 track from the album 'Scorpion Side B (Lights Covers)'. The lyrics set a flirtatious, barbed tone, name-checking Diana, and lingering on manners, attraction and impatience, culminating in the line about her “peak like Montana”. The chorus leans on repeated exclamations, then shifts into a threat to turn away. Elsewhere, a direct address keeps the mood confrontational, like a conversation that cannot quite decide whether it wants to flirt or fight.

"Peak" is a track by Lights, from the album Scorpion Side B (Lights Covers), released 9th July 2018. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 1 article about Lights.

Lyrics

Peak

[Verse 1]

Treat you like princess

Rest in heaven, Diana

Piquing my interest

She got peak like Montana

England breeds proper girls

Where are all your good manners?

Reply with pleasantries

Honestly, I can't stand ya

[Chorus]

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

Oh, oh, oh, you gon' make me turn up on you

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

Oh, oh, oh, you gon' make me turn up on you

[Verse 2]

What you thought of me?

Never had me missin' a beat

That's the view from a cheap seat

They don't want problems with me

Talk used to be cheap, nowadays it's free

People are only as tough as their phone allows them to be

Girl, that could never be me

I found my peace, I'm about to say my piece

You might not agree with me

[Chorus]

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

Oh, oh, oh, you gon' make me turn up on you

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

Oh, oh, oh, you gon' make me turn up on you

Oh, oh, oh, you gon' make me turn up on you

Oh, oh, oh, you gon' make me turn up on you

Oh, oh, oh, you gon' make me turn up on you

Oh, oh, oh, you gon' make me turn up on you
