About This Track

'George' by Lowertown is a 2019 alternative track from the album 'Friends'. The lyrics cast a narrator who feels trapped in repetition and running out of time, with cold and harsh weather pressing in as the voice tries to stay low and quiet, and insists on finding warmth anyway. A key idea arrives in the line, “I know its not meant to be,” before the song turns towards the blunt notion that wisdom arrives without guarantees, leaving the final thought unresolved.

"George" is a track by Lowertown, from the album Friends, released 28th January 2019. The track is 3:34 long. It's filed under Alternative. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 8 articles about Lowertown.

Lyrics

George

Im running in circles
Im following my feet
Im running out of time
Im at the end of my line

My hands are
Turning purple with the cold
This winters is harsh
But I will find some warmth

Low to the ground
Trying not to make a sound
I know its not meant to be
Wisdom always has a price
Its never is given for free

I feel the way my spine is curving
Its getting out of line
Stop telling me to thinking so much
Its not all going to be fine

Now your hairs falling onto the ground
Your fingers are old and worn out
The smoke in your lungs weighs you down
Its time to sleep now
This is what you've become
Out of breath
Out of time
Always there
In your mind
In your mind
In your mind

Im scared for tomorrow
But I am getting taller by the day
Im growing
Im finding my way
Finding way ...
Finding my way

Low to the ground
Trying not to make a sound
I know its not meant to be
Wisdom always has a price
It's never is given for free
For free
For free
