About This Track

Miguel frames romantic devotion as a kind of damnation. He and his lover are bound for hell together, and he accepts the consequence without hesitation because the alternative, a life without her, is unthinkable. The song pivots on a paradox: she is simultaneously his saviour and his ruin, the only one who can redeem him even as loving her condemns him. The track builds its theology around worship. Miguel treats her as an idol, a false god whose favour he must earn and keep at any cost. That tension between salvation and sin, between the sacred and the profane, gives the song its emotional weight. He sings the refrain with a kind of defiant surrender, each repetition of "I don't care, I'm in love" a small act of capitulation to a force he cannot and will not resist.
