About This Track

'dramatic escape' by mxmtoon is an Alternative track from the album 'liminal space', released in 2024. The lyrics float between gentle self-care advice, time outdoors and reading, and a firmer refusal of slow improvement, ending on the determination to “keep planning my dramatic escape”. The contrast gives the song a lightly ironic edge, like someone trying on calm routines while privately plotting a more decisive exit.

Lyrics

dramatic escape

Take it easy
Nice and slow
Wake up early and smell all the roses while you go with the flow
Read a book
Get some air
Did you know that twenty minutes in the sun can do some good if you care?

But I'm not looking for a gradual change
No thanks, I'll just keep planning my dramatic escape

Try to help me
Though it seems like I don't care
You got a logical brain making sense of the way that I am
Am I broken?
Can you come and wind me up?
I can go through the motions, hoping I won't break down

But I'm not looking for a gradual change
No thanks, I'll just keep planning my dramatic escape

I can take another gummy and I'll see how I feel
Got brain cells to burn and I don't know what's real
'Cause I've been staring at the TV, hoping that you'll leave me alone
No, I'm not a doctor, but I'm self-diagnosed
I know what I got, but words are stuck in my throat
Call me a basket case with a fear of changing, oh

But I'm not looking for a gradual change
No thanks, I'll just keep planning my dramatic escape

And there's nothing you could say
To make me change my mind
So I'll wave and say goodbye
It's my dramatic escape
