About This Track

'The Catalyst' by Pendulum is a 2010 track whose lyrics picture people living under threat, with a grim, determined insistence that nothing can outfight or outmatch what is coming. The repeated appeal to “God bless us everyone” gives the verses a dark, urgent tone, even as the language turns relentlessly competitive, stacking negations around being unable to be beaten, outdone or outrun.

"The Catalyst" is a track by Pendulum, released 22nd September 2010. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 1 article about Pendulum.

Lyrics

The Catalyst

[Verse 1]

God bless us everyone

We're a broken people living under loaded gun

And it can't be outfought

It can't be outdone

It can't be outmatched

It can't be outrun, no!

God bless us everyone

We're a broken people living under loaded gun

And it can't be outfought

It can't be outdone

It can't be outmatched

It can't be outrun, no!

[Pre-Chorus]

When I close my eyes tonight

To symphonies of blinding light!

[Chorus]

Like memories in cold decay

Transmissions echoing away

Far from the world of you and I

Where oceans bleed into the sky!

[Drop]

[Verse 2]

God save us everyone

Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns?

For the sins of our hands

The sins of our tongues

The sins of our fathers

The sins of our young? No!

God save us everyone

Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns?

For the sins of our hands

The sins of our tongues

The sins of our fathers

The sins of our young? No!

[Pre-Chorus]

And when I close my eyes tonight

To symphonies of blinding light!

[Chorus]

Like memories in cold decay

Transmissions echoing away

Far from the world of you and I

Where oceans bleed into the sky!

[instrumental]

[Chorus]

Like memories in cold decay

Transmissions echoing away

Far from the world of you and I

Where oceans bleed into the sky!

[Outro]

Lift me up, let me go

Lift me up, let me go

Lift me up, let me go

Lift me up, let me go

Lift me up, let me go

Lift me up, let me go

Lift me up, let me go

Lift me up, let me go

Lift me up, let me go

Lift me up, let me go
