About This Track

'Winter' distils PVRIS into their purest form: electro-wrapped swagger built on the temperature of emotional absence. The song maps a relationship gone cold, its narrator caught between physical touch that masquerades as love and the dawning realisation that warmth cannot be borrowed or stolen. The production fizzes and hits at every turn, a gloss of synthetic brightness wrapped around lyrics that ache with the specific pain of feeling too much whilst your partner feels too little. The track moves between mountain-sized chants and slick breakdowns, each section landing with precision. Lyrically, the song trades in concrete imagery: breath visible in frigid air, flesh that cannot ignite, bones without love. There is no ambiguity here, only the clarity of someone who has decided that spinelessness is preferable to this particular kind of suffering.
