Rammstein have announced their new album, 'Zeit'
Following three years after their untitled album, their eighth full-length is set for release on 29th April, preceded by the title track.
About This Track
'Radio' addresses life under cultural restriction, using the image of a forbidden receiver as a path to the wider world. Rammstein sings in German of a childhood in which certain forms of expression were prohibited, yet each night brought a few hours of escape through the airwaves. The song frames the radio as a tool of liberation, a way to hear what the eyes could not see and to access music that official channels had deemed dangerous. The track builds around this central metaphor with characteristic heaviness, the lyrics moving between the specific historical moment they evoke and a more universal hunger for freedom. Rammstein's delivery is direct and propulsive, the repetition of the title phrase anchoring the song's emotional core: a small act of rebellion, night after night, conducted in secret.
"Radio" is a single by Rammstein, from the album Rammstein, released 29th April 1994. The track is 4:37 long. It's filed under Metal. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 1 article about Rammstein.
