About This Track

'Radio' addresses life under cultural restriction, using the image of a forbidden receiver as a path to the wider world. Rammstein sings in German of a childhood in which certain forms of expression were prohibited, yet each night brought a few hours of escape through the airwaves. The song frames the radio as a tool of liberation, a way to hear what the eyes could not see and to access music that official channels had deemed dangerous.
