Reflection

RM's solo 'Reflection' is a meditation on self-loathing and the search for acceptance. Built around the repeated refrain "I wish I could love myself", the track charts a night-time walk through Seoul, where the speaker finds temporary refuge in the familiar darkness of Ttukseom by the Han River. Strangers, beer, and the creeping presence of fear become strange companions; the city's nocturnal landscape offers a kind of freedom that daylight cannot. The song moves between Korean and English, between observation and confession. RM describes a world of competing desires and contradictions: happiness shadowed by unhappiness, freedom that feels like its own prison. The verses are dense with metaphor and self-interrogation, each image circling back to the central struggle of learning to sit with oneself. What emerges is not resolution but a kind of exhausted acceptance, the speaker finding comfort simply in being lost among others who are equally lost.
