About This Track

A collaboration between Skrillex and Kill the Noise, 'Recess' enlists Fatman Scoop on the hook and Michael Angelakos of Passion Pit on vocals. The track builds around a simple, anthemic refrain: perseverance through the night, hands in the air, collective momentum. Skrillex layers the vocal loop with his characteristic bass architecture, the drop arriving with the weight of a crowd surge. The song arrived as part of the album of the same name, recorded across 2013 and 2014 whilst Skrillex toured internationally. It entered the UK Singles Chart at number 57 upon release.
