'Eventually' is the fifth track on Tame Impala's 2015 album 'Currents'. It was originally released as a promotional single in May 2015, alongside the announcement of the album, and later serviced to radio in June of that year as the third single from the record.
The song dissects the impending end of a relationship and the difficulties inherent in that process. Kevin Parker adopts the voice of someone attempting to justify a necessary break, the lyric framed around the idea of short-term pain yielding long-term gain. The repeated refrain 'I know that I'll be happier / And I know you will too' functions as both reassurance and mantra, the word 'eventually' stretched across the chorus like a promise deferred.
In a Reddit AMA, Parker singled out 'Eventually' as a Tame Impala song that remains very moving for him, a rare acknowledgement of the emotional weight carried by one of his own compositions.
"Eventually" is a single by Tame Impala, from the album Currents, released 14th July 2015. The track is 5:19 long. It's filed under Alternative. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 20 articles about Tame Impala.
