About This Track

'Difficult' by Uffie is a 2010 electronic track from the album 'Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans'. The lyrics stage a cocky, performative attitude, with rhymes and paperwork imagery used to frame money talk and a sense of being pushed or dismissed by someone else. Over the rough-edged chant of the chorus tag, “Difficult-icult-icult-icult”, the lines keep circling back to writing, checking, and the feeling of having been shoved to the front. The overall effect is confrontational and stubborn, as if confidence is both the premise and the defence.

"Difficult" is a track by Uffie, from the album Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans, released 30th May 2010. The track is 2:56 long. It's filed under Electronic. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 2 articles about Uffie.

Lyrics

Difficult

Don't worry if I write rhymes, I write checks
Don't worry if I write rhymes, I write checks
Don't worry if I write rhymes, I write checks
Difficult-icult-icult-icult
I write checks

Open in my books I've read
Dreaming on the Cadillac
I wonder why you pushed me on the front
While you stay on the back
They talked all around me
They screamed when they're next to me
Difficult-icult-icult-icult

Sorry I don't know what to say
I'm ruining everything you've made me
I don't feel comfortable when mother
I tried

Okay I don't want to settle
If my boys signed my coochie
I
I just want to be fine with no troubles on my mind

Bring the bass
And
Life is too good
I don't want to live in fear
That's why I ask him
I'm not trying to be the best
So don't worry if I write rhymes, cause I write checks

Don't worry if I write rhymes, I write checks
Don't worry if I write rhymes, I write checks
Don't worry if I write rhymes, I write checks
Difficult-icult-icult-icult
I write checks

I'm using my voice, I'm singing this song
I come to take what you own
At the end of the day
Chase me on the next day

If you don't want to play me
If I lose I go down
You're going down with me
If I win

You better not put all your eggs in the same basket
Writing the check
Girls come free, and drugs come free

Don't worry if I write rhymes, I write checks
Don't worry if I write rhymes, I write checks
Don't worry if I write rhymes, I write checks
Difficult-icult-icult-icult
I write checks

Don't worry if I write rhymes, I write checks
Don't worry if I write rhymes, I write checks
Don't worry if I write rhymes, I write checks
Difficult-icult-icult-icult
I write checks
