Hill Farm

Hill Farm is a working farm in Steventon, Oxfordshire, and for one weekend a year it becomes the permanent home of Truck Festival. The event was founded in 1998 by brothers Robin and Joe Bennett as a defiantly small affair, a single day, twenty-odd bands, a three-pound ticket and a few hundred people in a field, and it has returned to the same farm every summer since. The whole proposition rests on that sense of place: a festival that grew up on one patch of ground and never moved. From those beginnings it has become a fixture of the British independent calendar, a reliable showcase for guitar music on the up. Supergrass, Foals, The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, Manic Street Preachers and Laura Marling are among the acts to have played the farm over the years, with the 2026 bill including Two Door Cinema Club, CMAT, The Wombats and Primal Scream. It remains, despite the growth, recognisably the thing the Bennetts started in a field outside Abingdon.
