From their Dundalk border town roots to selling out Brixton Academy, The Mary Wallopers are reclaiming folk music's rebellious spirit one raucous show at a time.
The Mary Wallopers are an Irish folk music group based in Dundalk, County Louth. The group was originally formed by brothers Charles and Andrew Hendy, along with Seán McKenna. In 2022, the lineup expanded to include Róisín Barrett on bass, Brendan McInerney on drums, Seamas Hyland on accordion, and Finnian O'Connor on tin whistle and uilleann pipes. Hyland left the group in late 2023 to focus on his own music, and McInerney was previously replaced by Ken Mooney of The Urges. In March 2025, Seán McKenna announced his departure to pursue his own music.
