The Vaselines are a Scottish alternative rock band formed in Glasgow in 1986. The band was initially a duo consisting of songwriters Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee. They later expanded to include James Seenan and Charlie Kelly, Eugene's brother, on bass and drums respectively, both from the band Secession. McKee previously played in the band the Pretty Flowers, while Kelly had been a member of the Famous Monsters.
