The Mysterines’ Callum Thompson has unveiled his new project AKA with ‘It Grows On Trees (Money)’ and a skateboard dog chase
His debut single is out now via Fiction Records.

AKA is the new musical venture from Callum Thompson, best known as the guitarist of The Mysterines. Having signed to Fiction Records, the Liverpool-based musician and producer has shared his first single under the moniker, 'It Grows On Trees (Money)', which he wrote and produced himself.
Thompson describes the track as exploring themes of identity and perception. "It's a song about the surreal becoming real," he explains. "It's about finding yourself when you stop looking. It looks at how identity evolves in the modern media age - and the sense that certainty only exists in doubt."
Accompanying the single is a video from director Charles Gall, whose previous credits include work with English Teacher, Sports Team and Sigrid. The clip features, among other things, a skateboard-based dog chase.
Further live appearances are on the horizon, too. The dates in full read:
MAY
15 The Great Escape, Brighton, UK
JULY
24 Midi Festival, Hyères, FR
