Blood Orange has shared a new single, ‘Essex_Honey.mp3’.
The track arrives as a companion piece to Dev Hynes’ acclaimed 2025 album ‘Essex Honey’, his first full-length record in more than six years. Written, produced and recorded by Hynes, the album explored grief, memory and his upbringing in Essex.
Described as an expansion of the album’s world, ‘Essex_Honey.mp3’ builds on the melancholic atmosphere that defined the record, pairing Hynes’ electronic production with reflections on home and identity. The song also features a sample of Sky Ferreira’s ‘Everything Is Embarrassing’, which Hynes co-wrote and produced in 2012.
The release arrives alongside a new run of North American live dates. The shows join an already busy 2026 schedule that includes appearances at Primavera Sound, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, Øya, Lowlands, Pukkelpop, Bumbershoot, Shaky Knees and Austin City Limits, as well as a UK appearance at London's Rally festival on 29th August.
