NewDad have announced their second album 'Altar' and with teaser single 'Roobosh'
Irish rock band NewDad reveal their second album 'Altar' will release in September 2025, alongside angry new single 'Roobosh'.

NewDad have announced their second album 'Altar', set for release on 19th September 2025, alongside new single 'Roobosh'.
The Irish rock band's latest track arrives with a one-shot video directed by Peter Eason Daniels and Rory Mullen, who are also the creative team behind the upcoming album.
Speaking about the new single, vocalist Julie Dawson explains: "Roobosh is just about being fed up. I wanted to write one song for the album that allowed me to shout, to get out all my frustration. Women get angry and we are expected to contain our rage but on this song I just allowed myself to go there. I wanted a song where I could moan and scream cause we all need to do that every once in a while and honestly it was just a bit of fun, letting myself get angry when I never allow myself to."
'Altar' was written over the past two years following the band's relocation to London, exploring themes of relationships, homesickness, ambition and sacrifice. The Galway-born trio - comprising Julie Dawson (vocals/guitar), Sean O'Dowd (guitar), and Fiachra Parslow (drums) - released their debut album 'Madra' in 2024.
