Home Counties - In A Middle English Town EP
'In A Middle English Town' feels like the story of a band finding their feet, cementing their sound, and having a lot of fun doing it.
Formed in 2020, Home Counties have made their mark with wry humour and catchy hooks. Back with their second EP, 'In A Middle English Town', the band have put creativity at the forefront. Self-produced by guitarist Conor Kearney, it pairs dark irony with synth-infused punk to create a snappy outlook on the modern-day village mentality.
From the opening clashing chords of 'Back to the 70s', Home Counties demand your attention - and it's absolutely worth it. Despite its cynicism and rambling verses, there's no denying that this track is an absolute tune destined to become a real crowd-pleaser.
From the slick 'Back to the 70s' to the experimental free-for-all that is 'Ad Gammon', the EP sees the band take everyday subjects and inject their own individuality and politically-fuelled wit to make it a truly enjoyable listen.
'In A Middle English Town' sees the band experiment with their sound, with moments of true brilliance. From slick melodies and infectious rhythms, 'In A Middle English Town' feels like the story of a band finding their feet, cementing their sound, and having a lot of fun doing it.
