PUNCHBAG - I Am Obsessed EP
‘I Am Obsessed’ turns life’s mess into a full-blown pop spectacle.
PUNCHBAG's 'I Am Obsessed' EP zooms in on the everyday until every tiny detail feels blown up and slightly grotesque, pushing their sound into bigger, bolder territory without losing the knack for sharp, hooky pop.
'What's In My Bag' opens with a playful, clutter-core spiral of half-eaten snacks and tangled headphones, delivered with a wink. It keeps swerving just when you think you've got it pinned, giving it that slightly theatrical flair. 'Pile Of Clothes' takes a sillier concept and gives it more weight, turning the dreaded floordrobe into a full emotional sinkhole. "I've been under the pile of clothes" hits because, honestly, who hasn't?
'Playing God' is the standout. It arrives heavier and far more cutting, building into a chorus that's massive when it lands. There's bite to it, too, spiralling from personal frustration into a broader sense that everything is going wrong at once.
'I Love This!' snaps back into high gear, all restless energy and sky-high vocals, revelling in the rush of feeling alive again. It's relentless in the best way, like your brain finally switching back on after a long stretch of static. Closer 'I Am Obsessed' twists that intensity into fixation, pushing it into darker territory where desire turns prickly and invasive.
'I Am Obsessed' is bold and packed with personality, turning life's mess into a full-blown pop spectacle.
