About Rammstein
Rammstein is a German band formed in Berlin in 1994. The lineup includes lead vocalist Till Lindemann, lead guitarist Richard Kruspe, rhythm guitarist Paul Landers, bassist Oliver Riedel, drummer Christoph Schneider, and keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz, with the members remaining consistent throughout the band's history. The band's songwriting process involves Lindemann writing and singing lyrics over instrumental tracks completed by the rest of the group. Some members were previously associated with punk rock acts Feeling B and First Arsch. After winning a local contest, Rammstein recorded demos and signed with Motor Music. Their debut album, Herzeleid, was released in 1995 with producer Jacob Hellner; it initially sold poorly but gained popularity through live performances and reached number six in Germany. Their second album, Sehnsucht, was released in 1997 and debuted at number one in Germany. The album produced singles such as "Engel" and "Du hast" and was followed by a nearly four-year worldwide tour. In 1999, the band released the live album Live aus Berlin.
