Former BROCKHAMPTON member Ciarán has shared his debut solo single 'K-Bar'
Irish producer's first release since BROCKHAMPTON split arrives via Ninja Tune.
About This Track
Kevin Abstract raps through the wreckage of a relationship over a melancholic piano beat, moving between confession and deflection. He admits to infidelity, compares himself to Troye Sivan rather than Drake, and cycles through the emotional arithmetic of a breakup: the things he misses, the lies he tells himself, the way nostalgia softens what was toxic. The song is brief and unresolved, which feels right. Bearface, who appeared on 'WASTE' from the group's previous album, takes the outro, singing the refrain about missing someone in a voice that sounds like it's coming from underwater. The production recalls Kanye West's 'Bound 2' in its use of a simple, looped piano line; here it becomes a kind of emotional anchor, something to hold onto whilst everything else falls apart.
"JESUS" is a track by BROCKHAMPTON, from the album SATURATION II, released 24th August 2017. The track is 1:20 long. It's filed under Hip-Hop/Rap. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 7 articles about BROCKHAMPTON.
