About This Track
A stylistic departure from Drake's previous releases, 'Honestly, Nevermind' adopts a dance, house and Baltimore club sound, and 'Sticky' is an upbeat track built around Gordo's production. Sent to rhythmic contemporary radio through Republic Records and OVO Sound as a dual lead single on 21st June 2022, the song peaked at number six on the Hot 100 whilst the album debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 204,000 album-equivalent units, becoming Drake's eleventh US number-one album.
Drake discusses his luxury lifestyle and the subsequent complications it brings, hence his habit of surrounding himself with dangerous individuals. He namechecks Homer jewellery, twin Sprinters bound for Quebec, and a Maybach built for off-road use, whilst reflecting on forgiveness extended to those who turned their backs. The chorus returns to the title's double meaning, the word applied both to loyalty and to sexual chemistry.
The track credits Gordo and Ant for putting him on the wave, and includes a brief French phrase asking where his kiss is. A late-verse Virgil Abloh reference acknowledges the designer's influence, framed as something that came back through Drake after Abloh's death.
"Sticky" is a track by Drake, from the album Honestly, Nevermind, released 16th June 2022. The track is 4:03 long. It's filed under Dance. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 4 articles about Drake.
