About This Track

Future grieves a friend lost to fentanyl overdose, the track built around a sample of Jaime Woods' 'How Love's Made'. The song moves between mourning and self-recrimination, its chorus anchored by the stark repetition of the title phrase. Future examines the warning signs he missed, the depression his friend was battling, the way opioids promised relief but delivered only deeper trouble. The verses widen outward from personal loss to a broader reckoning with addiction's reach. He traces the path from pills to relapse, from Instagram culture to gang violence, from a mother trying to raise her son right to a young man shaped by his father's example.
