About This Track

'Twenties' arrives as a statement of intent, Ghost channelling raw rock muscle with the kind of swagger that recalls both thrash metal brutality and hip-hop swagger. Tobias Forge has described the track as a collision of Slayer and Missy Elliott, and that collision is audible: the song moves with a grinding, percussive momentum that sits somewhere between metal's aggression and rap's rhythmic precision. The chorus builds around a simple, anthemic refrain, repeating its vision of future excess with the kind of chant-along confidence that Ghost have made their trademark.
