About This Track

'Echo' opens with Kevin Abstract's voice caught in a loop of futility. Staring at the sky, howling at the moon, none of it will solve what's broken or bring back what's gone. The song documents a kind of spiralling, where small surrenders accumulate: cigarettes, then pot again, the fear of becoming someone he's watched self-destruct. There's a rawness to how he names the anxiety, the loneliness, the sense of time running out before the story ends. The track builds around absence and flight. A bad son leaves home because he has nowhere else to go, and the repetition hardens into something like resignation. When Abstract asks you to look into his eyes and tell him what you find, it's an invitation that feels almost desperate, a moment of exposure before the final questions collapse into each other: when did it all fall down, and where do you run to now? The song sits in that gap between movement and paralysis, between the need to escape and the knowledge that running solves nothing.
