About This Track

'Siberia' by Lights is a 2011 pop track from the album 'Siberia'. The lyrics move between busy parks and icy tides, weighing the desire to choose a place to live against a current, restless closeness. A cold, wind-swept distance frames the appeal of crossing from one side to the other, with the speaker offering the idea of sailing across the east sea, “Where the wind is cold”, to reach someone on the far side. The whole thing reads like a winter romance run through heat kept on, even as summer has passed.

"Siberia" is a track by Lights, from the album Siberia, released 2011. The track is 4:19 long. It's filed under Pop. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 1 article about Lights.

Lyrics

Siberia

From the busy parks
To the icy tides
Some day we'll decide
Where we want to live out our lives
For now we're two sparks
Tumbling along
Keeping the heat on
Even though summer's come and gone

I would sail across the east sea
Just to see you on the far side
Where the wind is cold and angry
There you'll be to take me inside
We'll find ways to fill the empty
Far from all the hysteria
I don't care if we suddenly
Find ourselves in Siberia
Siberia

Inside a street car
Or on a mountain trail
Details, details
You breathe in when I exhale
No matter where we are
Or which way the wind blows
Or how heavy the snow
Nothing can change where we would go

I would sail across the east sea
Just to see you on the far side
Where the wind is cold and angry
There you'll be to take me inside
We'll find ways to fill the empty
Far from all the hysteria
I don't care if we suddenly
Find ourselves in Siberia
Siberia
We'll leave Canada
For Siberia
