About This Track

'Suspension' by Lights is a 2011 pop track from the album 'Siberia'. The lyrics move between distance and drift, with images of being stranded, sailing, and caught overhead, as a sense of time stretching out gives way to a need for connection. The narrator frames their situation as something suspended in air, insisting they do not need anything “as much” while the world keeps going long beyond reach.

"Suspension" is a track by Lights, from the album Siberia, released 2011. The track is 4:05 long. It's filed under Pop. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 1 article about Lights.

Lyrics

Suspension

Somewhere we go to kill a while
A moment continuing for miles

Stars lay overhead, you're everywhere
Don't need anything as much
Soul shed on a thread, stranded in air
When you get too far to touch

I'm a ship sailing and the seas are rough
I'm a satellite in the space above
When I'm holding here or I'm hanging up
I'm in suspension, you're not close enough

You're not close enough
You're not close enough
You're not close enough
You're not (suspension)
You're not close enough
You're not close enough
You're not (suspension) close enough
You're not

Then comes the sun, the solar flare
In the suspension, find me there

Lift my spirit high when you come here
Enemy under the heel
This sky feeling I get when you're near
I'd give up gravity to feel

I'm a ship sailing and the seas are rough
I'm a satellite in the space above
When I'm holding here or I'm hanging up
I'm in suspension, you're not close enough

You're not close enough
You're not close enough
You're not close enough
You're not (suspension)
You're not close enough
You're not close enough
You're not (suspension) close enough
You're not

(Suspension)
(Suspension)
(I'm in suspension)
(Suspension, suspension)

I'm a ship sailing and the seas are rough
I'm a satellite in the space above
When I'm holding here or I'm hanging up
I'm in suspension, you're not close enough

You're not close enough
You're not close enough
You're not close enough
You're not (suspension)
You're not close enough
You're not close enough
