About This Track
Allen cuts through the wreckage of a relationship that was always going to fail. She diagnoses two people locked in their own patterns: him a man-child chasing attention and terrified of abandonment, her the woman who thought she could break the cycle. The song's title becomes its thesis, a loop that plays the same way every time, inescapable and finite. The refrain is brutal in its simplicity. "It's not me, it's you" is the oldest breakup line, but Allen means it here as diagnosis rather than deflection. She's not angry so much as exhausted, watching someone repeat the same mistakes until death. There's nothing to fix, nothing to save. He's stuck inside his fruityloop, and so was she, until she stepped out.
"Fruityloop" is a track by Lily Allen, released 23rd October 2025. The track is 3:22 long. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 9 articles about Lily Allen.
