Madison Beer has released a deluxe edition of ‘locket’ with heart-on-sleeve new single ‘lovergirl’
Four extra songs land ahead of the singer's 32-date global run.
About This Track
Released on Valentine's Day 2020 as the second single from her debut album 'Life Support', 'Selfish' is a slow-tempo breakup ballad built around stripped-down production that foregrounds Beer's vocal. Co-written and produced with Leroy Clampitt, the track addresses the aftermath of a nearly two-year relationship, the narrator cataloguing emotional labour spent on someone unwilling to confront their own problems. Beer sings of trying to repair someone fundamentally resistant to change, the central metaphor of thread and needle running through the chorus as she refuses to keep stitching. The lyrics move from specific grievance (time wasted in nightclubs, New Year's spent alone) to broader indictment, the bridge locating responsibility squarely with the subject: 'not responsible / For your self-made obstacles'. The song frames toxic attachment with clear-eyed hindsight, the title less accusation than diagnosis.
"Selfish" is a single by Madison Beer, from the album Life Support, released 26th February 2021. The track is 3:44 long. It's filed under Pop. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 15 articles about Madison Beer.

PinkPantheress, Kehlani and JT also feature on the reimagined record.

Discovered in her teens and scrutinised ever since, Madison Beer has learnt the hard way when to let the world in and when to shut it out. Now, with ‘locket’, she’s stepping back from the noise, the thinkpieces and the pressure to constantly prove herself to focus on creative freedom and making music that follows her gut.
A record that's surprisingly cool.

Her new full-length is coming in September.

It's the first taster from an as-yet-unannounced new project
