About This Track

Released in September 2012 as the second single from 'The Truth About Love', 'Try' finds P!nk turning romantic failure into a rallying cry. The song opens with questions about infidelity and self-deception, the verses mapping the familiar territory of relationships gone wrong. Where it lifts is in the chorus, which reframes heartbreak as survivable damage rather than fatal wound. The central metaphor runs through flame and burning, P!nk singing that desire inevitably sparks pain but that pain need not be the end. The repeated imperative to get up and try again becomes both mantra and hook, the song's structure built around that insistent three-word phrase. It is resilience as pop refrain, the kind of anthem that works because it acknowledges the hurt before offering the way through.
