About This Track

'Selené' by POND is an alternative track from the album 'Tasmania', released in 2019. The lyrics sketch a grim, darkly fatalist portrait of youthful recklessness turning into bodily ruin, with “final days and shadows” closing in as the speaker describes a surrendering, ritualised kind of togetherness. The language is blunt and confrontational, dwelling on the aftermath of excess and the eerie calm of those who feel time has run out.

"Selené" is a track by POND, from the album Tasmania, released 1st March 2019. The track is 3:54 long. It's filed under Alternative. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 5 articles about POND.

Lyrics

Selené

[Verse 1]

Young hearts runnin' free, oh yeah

Young love has gotta bleed, oh

Who took a little too much speed

And fucked their guts up and their teeth?

Oh, now that's done, proceed

As final days and shadows loom

We all hold hands and prepare the tomb

Bowed, bowed before the womb

Men fear power and call it sin

And from this flower, we all begin

In the red, red room

[Chorus]

(Selené) Now you can bleed on me

Now you can bleed on me, yeah

(Selené) Your body pressed, babe

To my chest, babe

We're together so fuck the rest, babe

Now you can bleed on me, yeah

[Verse 2]

Love your skin, holds your organs in

Though it holds away from you

Selené and her mortal king

We got more to do

[Chorus]

(Selené) Now you can bleed on me

Now you can bleed on me, yeah

(Selené) Your body pressed, babe

To my chest, babe

We're together so fuck the rest, babe

Now you can bleed on me

[Instrumental Break]

[Chorus]

(Selené) Now you can bleed on me

Now you can bleed on me, yeah

(Selené) Your body pressed, babe

To my chest, babe

We're together so fuck the rest, babe

Now you can bleed on me, yeah
