Wallows at Alexandra Palace, London confirms they are - and always were - destined for arenas
‘Model’ was built with big rooms in mind.
About This Track
'Ice Cold Pool' weaves together fragments from Wallows' own catalogue, most notably the earlier song 'Underneath the Streetlights in the Winter Outside Your House', to construct a meditation on growing up. The track moves between scenes of youthful transgression and the creeping awareness that innocence cannot be recovered, anchored by its repeated refrain about the cold pool and the need for warmth. The song builds its argument through a series of small moral distinctions: the difference between taking what's offered and paying for it, between knowing what comes next and wanting to escape it anyway. There's a weariness here, a sense of standing outside looking in, of recognising that some things cannot be restored once they've been cut down or left to wilt. The interpolations from Wallows' past work give the track a recursive quality, as if the band is examining its own artistic history whilst singing about the impossibility of returning to an earlier self.

‘Model’ was built with big rooms in mind.

Wallows are a sensation that continues to grow. Putting voice to feeling, they're turning buzz into the big time.
Wallows have that innate ability to make any day that little bit sunnier just for hearing one of their songs.
It feels almost effortless for Wallows at this point.

This month, Wallows run the gauntlet of our random, stupid queries.

"It's something we've talked about since we were kids."
