Easy Life have shared one last album preview, ‘FORTUNE COOKIE’, before ‘Maybe In Another Life’ drops this Friday
Their second LP is due to arrive this Friday, 7th October, via Island Records.
Easy Life have just released ‘FORTUNE COOKIE’, the final single from their second album, ‘Maybe In Another Life’.
Zane Lowe premiered the track on his Apple Music show before its wide release this evening. ‘FORTUNE COOKIE’ is Easy Life’s fifth single of 2022, following ‘BEESWAX’, ‘DEAR MISS HOLLOWAY’, ‘OTT’, and ‘ANTIFREEZE’.
The piano-led track soothes listeners, urging: “if you're in need of repair, take care.” It seems that the band needed to hear this message themselves - Murray recently told Dork that, “the older you get, unfortunately, in my experience, the more anxious and terrified you get – it’s not very fucking hopeful, is it?”
This was confirmed in a new email newsletter, in which the band shared: "'FORTUNE COOKIE' is the last song on our new album and was written as a message to the band. Over the last few years, we’ve had a lot of ups and downs and sometimes we all need reminding of what’s important. The song was inspired by Randy Newman and I remember when we first stumbled across the chords, I’ve been playing them every day since, I’m obsessed. I really hope you dig it, take care xxx"
