BROCKHAMPTON have released ‘The Family’, their final album as a collective, as well a surprise parting gift, ‘TM’
Following its founding in 2010, the Texas group has now disbanded after 12 years together.
About This Track
A brief, stripped-down account of hardship and isolation. The track moves through childhood poverty, family instability, and the loneliness of having no real friends, anchored by a repeating refrain about playing rock paper scissors with imaginary companions. The production is sparse and lo-fi, letting the vulnerability sit unadorned. BROCKHAMPTON compress a full narrative of struggle into these few minutes: moving constantly, witnessing violence, watching family members caught in the criminal justice system, the hunger that comes with scarcity. There's a dark humour in the boasting that follows, the sudden shift to material success and swagger, but it lands less as celebration than as a survival mechanism, a way of metabolising pain into motion. The song's power lies in how briefly it holds both states at once.
"LIQUID" is a track by BROCKHAMPTON, from the album SATURATION III, released 15th December 2017. The track is 1:22 long. It's filed under Hip-Hop/Rap. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 6 articles about BROCKHAMPTON.
