BROCKHAMPTON have released ‘The Family’, their final album as a collective, as well a surprise parting gift, ‘TM’
Following its founding in 2010, the Texas group has now disbanded after 12 years together.
About This Track
The closing track of 'SATURATION III' and the final song of BROCKHAMPTON's entire SATURATION trilogy, 'TEAM' breaks from the six-letter naming scheme that defined most of the series. The track was titled 'Evanie' in the Kevin Abstract-directed short film Billy Star, released December 2017, which featured snippets of several album cuts before the record's arrival. The song opens with Bearface's hazy guitar croon addressing a character named Evanie, the verses cycling through questions about loyalty and distance ('Did you lie to him since you were seventeen?'). The track then shifts to group verses that touch on identity, surveillance, and the weight of inherited strength, one member invoking the Samson myth whilst another reflects on needing patience and silence, his phone on airplane mode. The closing section returns to Bearface's solo voice, the arrangement spare and contemplative, matching the pattern set by the previous two SATURATION album closers.
"TEAM" is a track by BROCKHAMPTON, from the album SATURATION III, released 15th December 2017. The track is 4:34 long. It's filed under Hip-Hop/Rap. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 6 articles about BROCKHAMPTON.
