A Little Sound - A Lotta Noise EP
Late-night introspection and nightclub euphoria.
Released: 19th June 2025
Words: Harry Shaw
A Little Sound's 'A Lotta Noise' EP lands somewhere between late-night introspection and nightclub euphoria. The rising UK dance artist has crafted five tracks that showcase both her technical prowess and emotional depth.
Opening track 'Area Code', a collaboration with S.P.Y & CMDCTRL, sets an energetic tone with its summer-ready hooks and pulsing rhythm; the vocal refrain "Let my body know" floating above carefully structured beats. 'Override' keeps the energy high, bridging the gap to what might be the EP's strongest offering, 'Stars', where A Little Sound's partnership with Dutch producer Arcando really shines.
The latter half of the EP reveals more layers to A Little Sound's artistic palette. 'Afterlife' proves to be an unexpected earworm, while closing track 'Highs & Lows' is another standout, opening with enticingly dark undertones before building and breaking the tension. The track's emotional weight - captured in the vulnerable admission "I can handle the highs, I can handle the lows" - provides a fitting conclusion to an EP that's not afraid to explore the shadows between the strobelights.
