EP Review
Wallice - 90s American Superstar EP
A compelling tale as old as time, that still feels as fresh as the spring daisies.
Fame is an odd beast. Everyone knows it’s a double-edged sword, and yet there’s little less attractive than the famous complaining about their lot. Wallice is smart, though.
With ‘90s American Superstar’, she’s created a contained world weaved around a fictionalised version of herself - one that gradually escapes their own grounded reality and skips off into the void as the story develops. From the woozy delusion of car crash ‘Rich Wallice’ to the dramatic full stop of ‘Funeral’, it’s a compelling tale as old as time, that still feels as fresh as the spring daisies.
