About This Track
A bonus track on her second studio album, 'I Found a Boy' finds Adele flipping the script on heartbreak. Where much of the record dwells in the wreckage of a relationship, here she becomes the one who has moved on, telling a former lover that she has found someone she loves more. The song was written solely by Adele and produced by Rick Rubin. The track moves through temptation and resolve in equal measure. A former partner returns, hoping to pull her back, but she stands firm: she won't be swayed by charm or the promise that this time will be different. The chorus lands with quiet finality, each repetition of "I don't need you" a small act of reclamation. Lyrically, Adele balances vulnerability with steel, admitting to her own weakness for fire whilst insisting she has found something better, something real.
